The Hyenas are Scar's henchmen in the 1994 Disney film The Lion King and are led by Shenzi Marie Predatora Veldetta Jacquelina Hyena. In the books, they are under the control of Cruella De'Vil. Two of them are called Happy and Howly. They are very rare characters in the parks, hardly seen at all.

History

Kingdom Keepers V: Shell Game

They first appeared in The Archives at Hollywood Studios where they cahes Finn and Willa away from The Evil Queen, Cruella De'Vil and Maleficent. They later appeared onboard The Disney Dream where they were gaurding The Lifeboats. Here, they chased Finn, Charlene, Maybeck and Willa away before the kids fought back. They were then seen gaurding the understage of The Walt Disney Theatre but Maybeck managed to keep them by attacking him. This was because he held up the closest thing to him that was a model of Scar's head. This gave The Keepers enough time to think of a plan to get rid of The Hyenas, which included dropping a curtain over their heads. They later chased Finn and Willa away from Tia Dalma in The Engine Room and the two kids ended up jumping ship to get away from them.

Kingdom Keepers VI: Dark Passage

After Finn and Willa jumped off the ship, one fell off and another picked up the memory stick that Finn had thrown. Knowing it was something important, Maybeck tried to get it. However, the Hyena ate it. The other Hyenas then ran towards Jess and Amanda and one bit Jess. Due to her believing it wuld bite her, the bite was real. As the Hyenas fled, an angry Maybeck threw a shuffleboard stick at one of the creatures and he injured it. Later, Maybeck and Finn folowed the blood trail. They were in Hazmat suits to disguise themselves and to have a good excuse for cleaning up the blood. Eventually they followed the trail into the tunnel on Deck 4. They found a room with a bad smell and broken lights that was marked CAST MEMBERS ONLY. Upon using their phones screens as torches, the two boys discovered the bad smell was from a dead Hyena. It had been killed by Luwoski so the Overtakers could get the memory stick.
